Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Pragmatists.org usable by everyone.
Our Commitment
Effective date: July 4, 2026
Pragmatists.org is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to make our website inclusive and barrier-free.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
What We Do
We use semantic HTML to provide meaningful structure and navigation. All images include descriptive alternative text. Our color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements. Interactive elements are keyboard accessible and include visible focus indicators.
Our website is designed to work with assistive technologies including screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech recognition software. We test with a range of browsers and devices to ensure consistent accessibility.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements on our website can be accessed using a keyboard alone. You can use the Tab key to move between links and form controls, Enter or Space to activate them, and Escape to close dialogs or menus. Skip navigation links are provided to bypass repetitive content.
Text and Readability
Our website supports browser text resizing and zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. We use clear, readable fonts and maintain sufficient line spacing. Content is written in plain language whenever possible to improve comprehension for all readers.
Ongoing Efforts
We regularly audit our website for accessibility issues using both automated tools and manual testing. Our team includes accessibility considerations in every phase of design and development. When we publish new content or features, we review them for accessibility before launch.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. As standards evolve and new technologies emerge, we will continue to update our practices accordingly.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some third-party content or embedded media may not yet meet all accessibility standards. We are working with our partners to address these gaps and will update this page as improvements are made.
